John B Kelly, Rowing - 1924, obv: relief of 2x (Kelly & Costello), rev: John B. Kelly, Rowing 1924, John B. Kelly won his third Olympic gold medal when he and his partner Paul V, Costello won the doubles in 1924. Kelly had won both the singles and doubles in 1920, contained in plastic case
Inscribed: Presented To, Captain, John H. Abeel, 1869-1909, stamped : Rob Stoll NY, "Captain Jack" became a member of Nassau BC in 1868 and was a successful competitor, then officer of the club for many years (he was later celebrated in 1908 for 50 years).
Rev. stamped: Dieges & Clust N.Y. (confirmed with a 1908 postcard, written by a rowing regatta competitor), (K for Kaueonga Lake, the northern end of White Lake, indian name meaning "lake with two wings"
KAA probably stands for Kauneonga Athletic Assoc, (see single KAA single medal), assorted swimming and rowing from 1907 to 1911, obv: all but one with rowing motif, rev: all with inscription, see pictures/Inventory-objects
Won by Henry Silvester (also won Doggett's Badge in 1905), Inscription reads: "Coat, Badge & Freedom, Presented By London Rowing Club,Won By H. Silvester, 1901", The LRC Regatta had a watermen's race from 1875 to 1905 (see Water Boiling Aft book, pg 74 & 98)
