The Fischburg Rowing Club : a friend of mine recently found that a navy-blue double-breasted jacket had appeared mysteriously in her wardrobe. No explanation has ever been forthcoming, no-one has claimed it, and strangely, some of her socks disappeared at about the same time. The label in the jacket revealed the name of a shop in Germany, and this story is a result of our attempts to figure out how the garment travelled from Hamburg to Oxfordshire.
