This is a custom-designed beer stein, created by George C. Hines to celebrate the Clubs of Boathouse Row. There is an accompanying note which says, "The Home of Champions, Old and New. Since 1858, Philadelphia's Boathouse Row has been the home of the Schuylkill Navy, named for the river on which its members row and race. The oar blades of the member organizations are around the sides of this stein, and their names on the bottom. The handle repeesents the traditional bronze oar lock used in the racing shell. This is a collection of silver victory plates of Charles Karle of the Pennsylvania Barge Club for victories in the Four-Oared Shells and Pair-Oared Shells races in 1926, 1927, 1928 and 1931.
This is a collection of Artifacts from the National Association of Ameteur Oarsmen. The first is a plastic box with a metal lid, with the NAAO flag and a serpent. It is designed to hold the metal stamp used to mark official documents, and engraved plates for designating the conditions of trophy custody. The plates are as follows: "This trophy is the permanent property of NAAO and must be surrendered on demand by a duly authorized official of the said association." There is also a 1960's era NAAO Window Sticker.
